Software Version 2.2 Release Notes: New features The following describes the new features added in version 2.2. Support for NLS Bard With the 2.2 update, we are adding support for accessing the NLS Bard service for customers in the United States. This is done by allowing to run the Bard Mobile Android application on our device using a special accessibility module we have developed that gives you the ability to navigate the application and its user interface with our easy to use keypad. Note: The Bard app is not pre-installed on the device. You have to install it via a new application, called app catalog, that we have added for this purpose. For information on using Bard with Orbit player, including installation, please consult the updated user guide, starting from section 14.7. Improved wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity experience Based on your feedback, we have changed the wi-fi and Bluetooth settings screens from using a dialog to a standard screen with vertical lists that can be navigated using the up/down arrows. Known issues / limitations Here is a list of the known issues / limitations in this update: • In the google voice manager, sometimes more than 1 pack will be shown for a particular language. They will have the same name but a different file size. This is out of our control due to the way in which Google displays voices. We are investigating possible solutions. • When switching to Google voices, they take a while to load due to the way in which they are designed, much longer compared to Vocalizer. After changing to a Google voice, it will take up to 10 seconds for the device to start speaking.
